A few of my favorite Internet sites (Obviously I don’t endorse everything you will find on these web sites.  Please use discretion and discernment.  Also, be aware that many theological backgrounds within the Christian church are represented here but they are predominately conservative evangelical organizations.  Happy surfing!)

Project Wittenburg:        http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/wittenberg/wittenberg-home.html

Good collection of historic Lutheran writings including the Lutheran Confessions, Martin Luther’s writings, CFW Walther (1st President of the LCMS), and others.

Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals:        http://www.christianity.com/ace

This is a very good site with stimulating material.  I have subscribed to the magazine “Modern Reformation” for several years, support this ministry and occasionally listen to discussions on the “White Horse Inn” radio program and well as the “Barnhouse and the Bible” radio teaching program.  Start by reading, “An Introduction to the Cambridge Meeting” by James Montgomery Boice as well the “Cambridge Declaration” to get an idea for what the organization is about.  Good collection of links, as well.

Their sister site, Reformation Ink, http://www.markers.com/ink            has a great collection of contemporary and classic articles and books.

Phil Johnson’s Bookmarks:         http://www.gty.org/~phil/bookmark.htm

My friend’s site that I believe is the best collection of Christian sites out there.  Phil also provides a little editorial on most of the sites, complete with a good sense of humor.  Spend most of your time in the “helpful theological resources” section.  Also, take a look at some of the links on the left side of his home page; especially the “Hall of Church History” and “The Spurgeon Archive.”  Phil is the Executive Director for “Grace to You,” the radio teaching ministry of John McArthur, the next site on this list.

Grace to You:                   http://www.gty.org/

This is the radio-teaching ministry of John McArthur, whom I have listened to for over 15 years.  The web site contains a large collection of archived messages that can be accessed for listening to or reading.  The radio program also airs at 9:00pm weekdays on Houston radio station KHCB 105.7.  I have supported this ministry for years and have read dozens of books written by McArthur.

Christian Classics Ethereal Library:                      http://www.ccel.org/

This is a very good collection of mostly classic Christian writings and many good references.  You’ll find that many other sites link directly to this library.   I go there often.

The Discerning Reader:                http://www.discerningreader.com/

A good site for books.  Well organized, good recommendations, and cheaper than I’ve found anywhere.  You can search by topic and author.  This is where I buy most of my books.

Ligonier Ministries:                      http://www.gospelcom.net/ligonier/

Web site for teaching ministry led by RC Sproul, a theologian and pastor whom I highly recommend.  I’ve supported this ministry for years and subscribe to “Tabletalk Magazine,” a daily devotional.  I also recommend any book written by RC.  He is known for his ability to put complex theological topics in plain language for understanding and application.

Antithesis:                                        http://www.antithesis.com/

A web site recently discovered which I’ve just begun to get familiar with.  Antithesis looks to be a very promising resource for good stimulating discussion to help discern various theologies in contemporary Christian circles.

Desiring God Ministries:                            http://www.desiringgod.org/library_index.html

The web site of John Piper, pastor of a Reformed Baptist church, who has also authored many books.  I have not read Piper as much as some of the others but you will find many challenging articles and messages here.  The site is well organized.  The list of short biographies of historical Christian leaders is a great resource.
